Subject: Risk Assessment/Lab Safety Plans-Work with Organoarsenic and
Organoselenium Compounds
Hi, Please excuse the cross-posting but I'm having trouble rooting through the numerous rat studies... If you have researchers doing bench-scale research synthesizing organoarsen ic and/or organoselenium compounds, I would really appreciate any literature citations that deal with toxicity, safe handling, spill cleanup, overall risk assessment and (last but not least) in-lab handling SOP's. We're not talking about working with a 1-liter roundbottom, probably more on the order of generating 1-10 grams of final product. I'm reading through Promed, HSDB has a section on arsenic compounds that I am reading, but if there is someplace that has it all neatly wrapped up and tied with a bow--or even has some good sections on toxicity and safe handling--I would really appreciate the reference. Many thanks, Margaret Margaret A. Rakas, Ph.D. Manager, Inventory & Regulatory Affairs Clark Science Center Smith College Northampton, MA. 01063 p: 413-585-3877 f: 413-585-3786
